Iranian Resistance has announced it will take its annual meeting of this year, in Paris, on June 13th. It may sound and look an Iranian event as same gathering last year attracted more than one hundred thousand Iranians from all over the globe.
National Council of Resistance of Iran organizes the event, a broad coalition that contains Iran’s progressive forces struggling to oust the present dictatorial regime, and to bring about a democratic non-nuclear government. The coalition also includes Iran‘s largest organized opposition, the Mujahidin- PMOI- known in the US as MEK.
Since the very first days Khomeini’s regime of “Velayte Faghih =Religious supreme power” grasped power in Iran, the Iranian resistance has been in combat with the state authoritarian rule. . This battle prolonged in political and social dimensions further than in military aspect. Fight against a regime that disguised itself as a true believer of Islam needed great ideological background. In thirty-six years battle with ayatollahs’ regime, Iranian resistance fortified its position and attracted both Iranians and non-Iranians inside and outside the country.
It is interesting that the Iranian regime, the utmost misogynist state is called to war by a woman, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. She is a devoted Moslem woman who rejects the Islam represented by Ayatollahs and looks for a democratic Iran. National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has elected Mrs. Maryam Rajavi as the president in exile for Iran.
Mrs. Rajavi participated in a recent hearing of US Congress in which she spoke about Iran’s state terrorism. She branded the regime of Iran as “ISIS’s Godfather”. Some US members of the house expressed their views that if anybody is eligible to talk about fundamentalism, it is Maryam Rajavi for her 36 years contribute to the combat against fundamentalist regime of Iran.
As in the previous years, Mrs. Rajavi is expected to appear in the Iranian resistance gathering of June .13 in Paris. The large number of politicians, parliamentarians and academicians who take part in these meetings, each year, shows that it is not a mere Iranian event. The global threats made by Iran’s meddling policies and its support for terrorist groups such as Houthis in Yemen have made Iran regime and fundamentalism a global threat.
With terrorist groups following the ideology propagated by Iran regime, fundamentalism has become our time‘s number one problem. The evil sprite has plunged its paws not only in the Middle East countries but also in Europe, Africa, United States, as well as in Canada and Australia. Fighting fundamentalism has become a universal task.
although the June 13th gathering of Iranian resistance is an Iranian reunion, with all the Iranian opposition flags and slogans , nevertheless with the widespread threat of extremism , it is a European event ,a French, German , British , Italian, American , Australian, . . . as well as Iraqi ,Syrian , Palestinian , Lebanese , etc.. .
